THE impressive new Shepparton BMW showroom on Goulburn Valley Highway, just up from their original premises, has lived up to all expectations – it is sleek, inviting and offers a feeling of prestige.

Dealer principal Aaron Brain explained, “The reason for moving was for us to align ourselves with the parent brand’s sustainability model. A huge focus for BMW over the next foreseeable future is concentrating on sustainability, from the concept of the car right through the end of its life.”

As well as being built from eco-friendly cement sheeting, the new showroom has 100-kilowatt solar system which has enabled Shepparton BMW to operate at net-zero energy costs throughout the 12-month period of operation.

“During winter we run about 84 percent cost neutral, and then we pull the balance from the grid. Once summer arrives and we’ve got more sun, we then push energy back into the system,” said Aaron.

This energy is used to power lights, the workroom, electric fast chargers and the automatic carwash.

“The auto carwash system minimises the amount of water usage that we use for cleaning all our vehicles. And with that, we have 45,000L of water storage. We catch three quarters of the roof span’s water, and then we use that to clean and detail all of our cars after its been filtered”

“We recirculate the water and we draw the oil out of it once used, so whatever we put back into storm water is clean before going back,” said Aaron.

It goes without saying that the new space has grown efficiencies for the 36-year-old business.

“We wanted to be able to deliver an experience for people with minimal wait times, brand new equipment and more technicians.”

Shepparton BMW has employed four technicians since moving, as well growing the number of dedicated hoists to 11, from five, and offering more service areas.
