TOXIC overbearing parents disgracing themselves at suburban grounds, or the call of the wild inhabitants of nature, whatever tickles your interest and has you reaching for that next great read, Goulburn Valley Libraries continue their fantastic author talks with two more brilliant writers slated for February.
Andrew Skeoch will bring ‘Deep Listening to Nature,’ to Tatura Library, Thursday February 8, at 12.30pm. A fascinating insight into how to identify bird species by call, interpret their communications and find empathy for their sentience.
Andrew is an educator, environmental thinker and one of Australia’s best-known nature sound recordists. His recordings can be heard in films like ‘The Jungle Book’ and the upcoming ‘Force of Nature’ with Eric Bana.
Karen Viggers will speak about her latest book ‘Sidelines,’ at the Shepparton Library, Wednesday February 7, at 6.30pm. A novel about the ugly side of child’s sport and family politics when parents become over involved.
‘Sidelines,’ is the fifth novel by Karen Viggers, following The Stranding, The Lightkeeper’s Wife, The Grass Castle and The Orchardist’s Daughter.
