ON Monday October 17, Harvey Norman’s proprietor of computers and entertainment Adam Denny was sitting at home wondering how he could help the affected flood people in his region, and what started as a single thought turned into helping more than 300 people.

With the help from Optus, he was able to donate around 30 power banks and 40 different sorts of phone cables, along with water bottles filled with fresh water to the showground relief centre.

“I have raised three kids here in this community and I needed to do something to help,” said Adam.

“We are currently working on the next round of donations, but we need to make sure they go to the right places,” he added.

One thing is for sure that throughout community devastation also inspires community compassion and the common need for people to really try to help, and in this situation providing power for people’s mobile phones in such trying times, was invaluable.
