THE official sod turning ceremony marked the beginning of work on Yallarah, a new community under construction in Echuca. Yallarah will contribute $38M in significant infrastructure enhancements to the local area and deliver over 2,000 homesites, helping to alleviate affordability pressures in regional Victoria.
After receiving its landmark development permit approval in January under the Echuca West Precinct Structure Plan, Yallarah will become the centrepiece of the Echuca community, set to boast the largest display village in the area in addition to plans for a future early learning centre on-site.
The commencement of civil construction marks a significant step towards making Yallarah a reality and unlocking the supply of residential housing to the greater region.
Founder and managing director of Wel.Co, Andrew Walsh expressed excitement at the commencement of Yallarah’s construction, describing it as the largest infrastructure project the region has seen.

Yallarah’s development will help pave the way for an estimated 4,500 new workers required by 2026 in Echuca and surrounding areas.
Winslow Constructors have begun earthworks, starting with clearing topsoil and levelling the site, followed by sewer and drainage, service connections, and road and concrete works.
