A true diamond in the rough

Supporting local business and investing in our community

As an innovative and fully accredited leader in the resource recovery and recycling of all metals, Future Recycling on Old Dookie Road, Shepparton are proudly local, competitive and have been carbon neutral for eight years.

“It means a lot to the business to continue to get the support of other local businesses. As a local business, we need local support for our continued survival,” said branch manager, Daniel Thewma.

“It is a constant battle to hold our own. We’re constantly fending off external businesses from Wodonga and Melbourne.”

Future Recyling has its own public registered weigh bridge, which ensures customers get the most accurate and competitive rebate on materials.

Since last year, Future Recyling have acquired three new trucks, two walking floors for carting waste, and a metal tub that is taking metal from Shepparton to the recycling facility in Melbourne.

“We’re pretty much self-sufficient. We’ve got our own transport and everything that we need here to then do our business.”

After implementing the shear and bin tilter last year, Daniel said, “We can now export direct to overseas, which allows us to give the customer even better rebates.”

While outgoings have increased like diesel prices, Future Recyling continues to look for new sustainable initiatives and grow the business, their footprint and reach across the region.
